Question / pole on what cylinder normally lets go from detonation and or lean mixture
Have a question / pole on what cylinder normally lets go from detonation and or lean mixture.
Noticed #4 and #3 mentioned a lot, which makes sense for a variety of reasons. Would love consensus on which is worst?
Injectors back from cleaning and flow testing at MPS Motorcycle Performance Specialties https://www.mpsracing.com/products/M...r_Cleaning.asp . Who I have used several times and been impressed with quality service.
Want to arrange them with highest flowing on the normally "leanest" or highest knock cylinder.
My theory given coolant flow path, and both intake and fuel manifold dynamics is the rear cylinders need the most fuel.
I arranged my injector flow rates with 3 highest flowrate , 4 second highest then 2 then 1. Not based on personal data - only on the discussion regarding coolant distribution and usually less air flow at the rear of the engine. Number 3 is sandwiched with heat from its neighbours so it got preference over number 4.
...but then I also set the individual flowrates within my ECU so I have totally negated this tactic
Really figured there would be more responses as so many people have lost motors due to cooling and detonation problems.
This is what the injector cleaning report looks like.
Not a subaru, therefore almost completely non-issue. Back in the day, folks did dual feed rails trying to solve a problem that was never there, not a single one ever could demonstrate any benefits or gains. Just my .02
