Default NB 1.6 TD04 ME221 AUDI R8 Plug Conversion

Hello guys! My first post here and I will get straight to the point.

We have a Miata NB 1.6 TD04 turbo setup with your ME221 GEN 1 ECU. As far as I understand it only supports the Wasted Spark type of ignition. We have wired VW/AUDI (R8) Coil on Plug with Coil 1 and 4 connected to the signal for Coil A and Coil 2 and 3 connected to signal for Coil B. We have checked all of the wiring and during the TEST INJ, TEST INJ/COIL, TEST COIL we get a proper +12 and Ground and also Signal 5 V and Signal Ground.

Settings for the ignition are - dwell times at 2.8 ms across the board and ignition driver is set to Wasted Spark - COPS.

Issue is the car is not starting. With the coil out we cannot see any spark during the test.

Should the stock Miata system be able to fire two R8 plugs at once?

Any ideas for troubleshooting with the multimeter to see any values indicating known faults?

Thank you very much!

With the test on Coil A - I can get a good spark on just Coil 1 but when I connect Coil 4 also, I do not get any sparks on either of the coils so I assume it is some power problem (the +12V coming from the wire loom is weak in terms of max current?). Could you please explain how to wire these resistors?
Thank you!

Pretty much like my MS3 mini was. Couldn't fire both coils.

Just solder the two resistors between the 12v and both signal lines in your loom. Or just fiddle them in for testing, I just "clamped" them in the terminals of my ignitor plug, where my COP-loom goes into (NA), did the trick for me.

Thanks very much, it works perfectly!
