Radiator ducting with Home Depot Cement Tub
Hey all. Did a bunch of work making some custom ducting for my turbo NA8. I used a Lowes/Home Depot cement tub, which was recommended by a few folks around here! Wanted to get your thoughts before I continued tomorrow. Keep in mind, I’ve got AC so it’s a little more difficult to work around the lines.
I’ve still got some trimming for getting the actual bumper cover to fit, and edge cleanup to do (like adding additional material or gaskets/foam at the bottom radiator edge) but I think it’s looking good so far.
Hopefully the combo of ducting and cutting all that material out helps my highway temps. (seems like Emilio highly recommends cutting the core support open for airflow.) and will be ordering up a aftermarket support bar as well.

I can add more pics once I get my bumper bar, but after reassembling everything and giving the car a test run.. the temps are GREAT. Consistently 20f lower across usage. I suspect cutting that front radiator support out made a huge difference as well. Tons more airflow in there.
Looks good so far! I am looking to redo my ducting soon on my turbo car and this is the first I have seen using a plastic tub but seems like a cheap/easy way to get that material. Would love to see your once you have it all done. Also is this what you used?
I would get some nuts/bolts, and some v channel weather stripping as well. And some aluminum ducting tape for a few of the little holes.
I’ll try and get some pics once the radiator bar comes. It’ll probably be a few weeks (because the bumper will need to come off again, otherwise I’d take one quick for you) but I’ll try and get some of the mouth today.
