the question is should i be able to build boost with just reving the car with no load? when im driving, i can hear the turbo spooling and blows off(HKS) just fine. at idle i can rev the engine but dont hear the turbo nor the BOV. im thinking this is because there is no load on the engine? or is something wrong with the waste gate/BOV? the rod is tight and the car runs and performs great. i just thought i would see if this is a problem, if so can someone explain.

Its Perfectly normal. I was able to build like......7 psi at idle if I reved hard enough haha. But its fine....IMO

 

you gotta rev it up hard/high to have it make a small bit of boost at idle. Depending on the valve is can dump easy or not, my will blow-off without any positive pressure from the way it's designed, since there is a pressure differental, even without boost.
