Ok, So I was looking at the motor, and (not sure of the part name, even tho I know its something simple, just cant think of it) there is a piece of a rubber gasket (same stuff as a valve cover gasket is) was sticking out and looked like oil was dripping from there. Its the one where if your looking at the front of the motor its on the left side belw the two cams. Then I went to go look at my motor and the SAME gasket WAS sticking out and leaking D:. Its right above the alternator on the right side. Im thinking it happend on my motor becujase of the pressure build up. Is it possible this motor was have ring and compression problems too and had the pressure build up as me!!!!!!!??????

 

i think someone just did a crumby job putting a new vc gasket one. if you not careful and you put too much rtv silicon with the gasket it squeezes out.

 

but its not relay at the vc. its the gasket thats below the timing belt, like on the cover

 

Oh, not sure if this helps...but plugs had oil in them. Eek.

 

the rubber on the timingbelt cover is always too big...
if it is that, i thing the crankseal is gone ...

God dam it. I dont have one! But I think you know what im talking about. Its popped out in like a loop. As if it were too big! But would a crankseal cause oil in plugs?

 

Where are the pics or better yet hold on i will ask you to point it out for us. save the pic that shows the best veiw and cricle the area with MS paint then repost the pic. first pic is the driver side second is the passenger side and the third is how the motor sits in the car. now please explaine.

 

oil in plugs is only the vc gasket... There is nothing else that can cause that...

At the front of the engine usually is the crank seal. (or the oil return of the turbo)

The oil could be dripping out and swung up by the timingbeld.

Or the VC gasket is so worn, it just drips down into the timingbeld area
Start by replacing the oem vc gasket and take a look at the timinbeld.
Rubber and oil dont mix.
oil eats the rubber away..
so maybe a timingbeld change with crankseal and a new vc gasket..

Ok, Thanks for the pics man. It also looks like a small piece is chipped from there! but its right in the circled part and a gap of about a centimeter.

 

That's a dry area... Check vc gasket and crank seal

 

that doesnt matter for **** in an outhouse get and properly install a new VC gasket, and forget about that. It just trys to seal your TB off from the elements better FWIW i took all mine out cause i didn't wanna hassle with new ones and the motor knows no difference. Ok now breathe 1,

Looks like oil was pouring dowdn from it. And from my car, it looked like the same thing, like oil was pouring down from the crack

 

lol, i agree with greddymx5. its probably your crank seal thats sticking out. and hes right about the vc begin the cause of oil on your plugs, unless you mis-poured oil when you were filling it up (dont ask me why i know).

 

No not the crankseal.. Maybe its worn... Or the oil is coming from the vc.

The rubber is just there to keep everything out...

 

I just had that area all apart...there's nothing there....unless the head gasket failed there, no oil should be passing around that area....


all those plastic panels have rubber "seals" around them...very easy to have them hanging with installed.

 

Even If the hg is gone it won't put oil in there.

 

Did anyone mention the Front Cam Seals? It would either be the Crank Seal, Cam Seals and the Valve Cover Gasket.

 

I'll go with cam seals....

Well when my crankshaft seal was leaking it did throw alot of oil around, but not up and to the side....I'd say if its not the valve cover gasket then its gotta be a cam seal. Why not just start pulling things apart to find out? Should be able to stop it once the timing covers are off no?
