Default Current Status of Walter Motorsport AZ6 Upgrades

Messaged Walter Motorsports earlier today regarding whether they're currently offering upgraded rebuilds on Miata AZ6 transmissions, or offering the "circlip mod" that's been spoken about on here a few times recently. I haven't seen anyone post a conclusive answer to whether it's available from them or not, so I figured I'd post this here for anyone interested.

Interesting points made across the board. Are there substantially more 6 speeds available on non-USDM cars?

Long story short, not an option currently. And if the claims are true, $3,250 still is a lot to pay for a transmission that's just a little more capable than a 6 speed.

Back to the drawing board. Thought someone out there might get some use from this, though.

Yeah, I saw a post from them on the bookface, soliciting business. Shipping boxes across the Pacific - ouch! Just the gearsets would be expensive. We do have people here doing work on the Az6, so a circlip mod can be done here, but gearsets would have to come in I think.

Jeez, yeah I don’t even wanna know what it must cost to send a single box across the pond haha.

Wild you guys can get a circlip mod done over there but we can’t find anyone to do it in the states.

Someone on the OG circlip thread mentioned an engineering shop in kalamazoo had done it. If my car made enough power to necessitate it, I'd look into them being ~90 minutes from me. Ive been told JO racing in kentucky would do it but it may be heresay.

ive tried bringing bringing both a diff and a synchro-needing transmission to a local shop i wont name and they basically told me off both times, citing that they 'dont work on imports' and 'we only work on jeeps and trucks' :eyeroll:

I was talking to one of the Aussie guys on here at least a decade ago about getting 3.6 gear sets send from AussieLand to the US. Shipping was going to be more then the gears.
