Unhappy 2004 Mazda Speed Rebuild

Recently, while driving to school my low mileage 2004 Mazda Speed lost power abruptly. As the coolant evaporated the gas pedal became unresponsive and limp. Both occurred at the same time in a sort of "pop." It rolled to the side of the road smoothly with no weird noises. If anyone here has an idea of what a rebuild would look like, or what might be wrong with it, I would love to know. The engine remains unresponsive to the crank as of right now. No one in my area will bother to take the engine out and tell me which part of the engine has seized. Is there any hope of a rebuild? I am thinking of salvaging parts from a totaled model as it seems to be the only option. Should I give it up and move on? If anyone has ideas I would love to hear them.

Dude, moar info, please.
Your car died and you got a "crank no start situation", right?
How does the oil look? How does the coolant look, if there is any? Are your accessory belts okay?
Do you have fuel pressure? Do you have spark? Do you have COMPRESSION on all pots?
Every half decent shop should be able to do a quick compression test...

Does the engine spin? what do you mean the coolant all evaporated instantly? If it is locked up and coolant is gone it sounds like the head gasket/turbo died and you hydro-locked it. If that is the case it will need fully rebuilt and will cost a lot more to have a shop do than do yourself if you're capable.
