Default Boundary Oil pump gears - When to get the Martinwear

In an attempt to have budget creep take over my build, I'm pausing on adding the martinwear coating on the oil pump gears for my vvt build.

Gameplan:
~150whp NA VVT in my 90 miata. Mostly stock valvetrain (probably the "volvo springs"), so I don't plan to spin it very high, maybe 7200rpm. Header/intake/ms3pro/flex, yada, basic recipe.
Eventually if the 150 isn't enough, I'll supercharge it to the 225ish range. So I will stay within the confines of stock rods and the 5 speed trans. Track only car, only street use is for shakedown of installed parts.

Would you get the martinwear on the gears? I have a brand new 01 vvt oil pump here and figured I should put in the gears before I assemble the engine, and I should put in a baffle. I'm also replacing bearings as I'm right here. But every $50-100 adds up.

Looking for input/experience.

While this doesnt necessarily answer your question, I skipped the gears completely and did a fluidamper with a brand new OEM pump on my VVT build. Dedicated track car here also.

The gears dont do anything to help with crank harmonics. In fact if you DO have bad crank harmonics the hardened gears can cause more issues than they solve because they will eat the comparatively soft pump housing and send metal throughout the motor...which is obviously bad.

Just a thought as you didnt say if you are running an upgraded balancer(fluidamper or ATI).

As far as the coating, I dont think its probably needed for your proposed build.

Thanks for the input. Already have a fluidamper dampener for harmonics purposes.
