Default Turbo leak or valve stem leak?

So had a turbo failure I’m dissecting from my other thread:

https://www.miataturbo.net/ecus-tuni...l-dyno-108593/

Before the turbine ate the housing, I noticed some oil burn at somewhat random intervals, but seemed hard to determine whether it was stem seals or the turbo itself. “Luckily” I had the “opportunity” to tear out the turbo anyway, and here’s what I’m seeing:

I don’t see anything wet in the wastegate port or manifold, but the exhaust turbine is wet. This was after a short cold start to get the Miata up on ramps. Does this point to a turbo seal failure? I suppose when I get my GBC22-350 I’ll find out, but I’d love some input from someone that has experienced those failures in the past.

look with a light/mirror or camera into the ports of the manifold. If a cylinder has a bad valve stem, you'll likely see some wetness in that port close to the head. Obviously the turbo died so it oiled too. But it could have been oiling before dying.
