Built Engine Special Maintenance ?
Hi All - your local thread starter reporting in. I was searching through the forum, but couldn't find any old posts on it. I was hoping to hear from those people who have run one or more built engines over the years and wanted to get their taken on any specialized maintenance. I recently blew my stock block and then got an amazing to me deal on a fully built motor for well below market value. I did not really 'earn' the right to a built motor by taking hte time that all of you have and even really taking on the cost of it. I simply could not afford to replace this thing probably ever, so I want to make sure that the beating I'm putting on it is eased by whatever pampering is recommended. Hopefully this can also be a repository for ideas for everyone to use as well rather than something just specific to me. Here's my motor build information. I'm also about to install a 36-2 trigger wheel as the tuner I used said it would help with my rough starts. My only real concern that I know about is that there is a faint white smoke out of the tail pipe after start up, but that eventually subsides almost entirely. I use the car for street driving and a once a month or every other month track day session in Florida. I put roughly 200 miles per month on it, it is not my daily driver.
