Default Timing belt walking off cam gears after fluidampr install

So I installed a fluidampr on my 1.6 in preparation for boost. I noticed the timing belt is now walking towards the front of the cam pulleys and rubbing on the plastic timing belt covers. Anyone have any ideas? I have replaced the timing belt, tensioners, and the spring. This only happened after the fluidampr install. I’m thinking this may be a result of not running a trigger wheel on the pulley which would ever so slightly push the belt guide towards the engine. I have attached pics below of how belt is sitting

Well, the belt pulley on the crank is located by the shoulder on the oil pump drive section of the crank. Is it possible that the lower timing pulley isn’t seated fully?

My fluidampr on my K24 is a much tighter press-fit than any of the usual import pulleys, almost like you’d find on an American v8. Are you certain it’s torqued fully and properly sandwiching the timing gear against the crank shoulder? Did the lower timing pulley appear to be badly worn?

Did you also replace the water pump? I had a very similar thing happen caused by an improperly machined, brand new water pump. It caused the idler to sit at a very slight angle which forced the timing belt to track right to the edge of the gear like this.

I suspect removing the trigger wheel is the issue. ATI, for example sells two different belt guides, one without the wheel.

afaik, Fluidampr used to sell dampers that didn’t require removing the crank pulley. I’ve heard that’s no longer the case. ??? If so, maybe check the woodruff key one more time.
