Default Fuel Pressure Regulator FPR Upgrade options - NB VVT

Hi all,

I am struggling for a few days on finding out the correct way of upgrading to an adjustable FPR. I am set on Radium Engineering options. I see on BOFI they have listed a direct mount FPR and a return fuel line kit with FPR.

My confusion starts with the saying that the VVT has a return-less style fuel system. I found out that is not exactly the case. Fuel rail does dead head in the engine bay, but the fuel system is actually return with a tee on the feed line at the fuel filter. The tee runs one end to the rail and the other end returns to the tank to the OEM FPR mounted on the hanger right beside the fuel pump.
How do I proceed with upgrading to a Radium adjustable FPR? Do I get a direct mount regulator and install it onto a Radium fuel rail? I'm confused if then I need to run a dedicated return line from the regulator to the tank? What do I do with the OEM line? Do I bypass the OEM regulator by just removing it from the inside of the tank?

If I get the return line kit with a FPR, can I mount the fuel pressure gauge on the rail as I don't like the option that the gauge is located under the car as they do in the instructions? I like the first option of the direct mount regulator but I am confused as I don't have a return line and how to bypass the OEM FPR in tank.

If someone can shed some light on this I would be very grateful.

Here are the links to the kits:

Direct mount: https://bofiracing.co.uk/performance...e-regulator-2/
Return line FPR kit: https://bofiracing.co.uk/performance...mx-5-nb-01-05/

Thanks!

Writing this gave me some clarity and enabled me to think about this better. The easiest would be to just run a dedicated fuel return line from the direct mount regulator on the rail to the fuel hanger with a SAE J2044 to AN adaptor and remove the OEM FPR. Only thing that remains is plugging the OEM return line. I could also put an SAE to AN adaptor and a AN cap. Or just run a dedicated feed line to the rail and remove the OEM lines altogether. With that I could also add a proper Radium fuel filter as well.

Am I missing something?

Or you could just run your new return back to the factory return line by the filter to return to tank. No reason to add additional plumbing to go back there.
