Default Turbo Swap Safety tune?

hello fellow enjoyers of the best car ever made, I just swapped a tired GT 2554 with a brand new GT 2560 and I have a good theoretical knowledge of tuning and fueling and boost pressure and boost control, but not much real world experience.

I am wondering what the easiest thing I can do is to get my car safe with the new turbo so I can make it to a track day Monday morning.

The car is tuned for 10 psi on the 2554… Should I just boost control myself to 8 psi on the 2560? Or just run wastegate pressure 7psi (will be rich I think?) and then add boost till I'm at a comfy 11.5:1?

What ecu? Should run fine on wastegate, not rich. If it is rich, datalog it during a session and adjust appropriately.

Thanks! Megasquirt MS3X. Do you reckon I should pull a bit of timing as well up top with the slightly bigger turbo?

Too retarded can have negative impact on heat. Post your tune, so we can determine if you’re in a good spot.

Thanks for your offer of help, Curly, but I am going to try and find a good dyno tuner in the greater NYC area so I can make sure this car is dialed in ASAP. I’d love to tune it myself, but I think I’ll start with a naturally aspirated car, and make sure my Miata is ready for track and drift days this summer.
