Default 1994 1.6, Begi and 2560R. Bought for burnouts

Hi

Thought I stop by and say hello.

This is third summer that I have had 1994 1.6, BEGI turbo setup with 2560R. Bought my first, 1989 Miata in 1999, then went ten years without one. Friend bought one because he had liked mine and after the test drive had to get one again. 2009 in autumn I importedd Eunos Roadster Mazdaspeed B spec MS11-20064 from UK. Got OER FujiRacing ITB's with DIYPNP2, car already had KAAZ, Koni's, R888's, roll bar and race seat. Send it, sold it, then build a track car from 1993 Eunos, weight 890kg/1960lbs, TEIN coilovers, KAAZ, 235/13 semis and fastest time for Miata on the local track. It got sold and I got 1992 that had Tuckin99 arches, SSR mesh's, St May shotgun exhaust, Trap lip etc JDM goodies. It too got sold. Imported 10 Miatas from UK over the years, two Westfields, one 944 Turbo and one SW20 Beams, all but one driven home. Best part was always the German autobahn's, I've had 25 minutes sitting rev limiter on 5th gear with local Polizei following on safe distance.

Lived 11 years with out Miata, could care less, btdt, had 8 bikes in 7 years, but got tired of riding and gearing up. Sold Tenere 700 and bought the turbo. Got the car for my friend 2014 from Estonia. Came from Redeagle who had topic over here. Had a gentlemans agreement that when the time comes, I have the first refusal and now the time was right.
Took a month to get it back on the road after 3 years on jack stands, got it tested and back to driving.
.
List of the turbo's goodies as it came.
  • 1.6 that was rebuild by renegade, if my memory serves me correctly it this was after Shanghai turbo blew up and killed the engine.
  • BEGI turbo kit with upgraded to Garrett 2860R and downpipe to match the Garrett. 2860R misses the common 2560R mid range torque bump, instead offers easy to drive, flat torque "curve".
  • BEGI re-route
  • Exedy stage 2 clutch
  • Lightened 1.8 flywheel
  • DIYPNP2
  • Innovate LC-1
  • 1.8 torsen
  • 1.8 brakes
  • Braided brakelines
  • MeisterR coil overs
  • Racing Beat antiroll bars
  • 6UL 8" with Yokohama AD08RS semislicks, needs new pair for front.
  • Lots of braces under the car, even one for front antiroll bar.
  • Fully polybushed
  • Hard Dog Deuce roll bar
  • Race cat with V-band and bypass pipe.
  • No Rust! Whole bottom is covered with rust proof
  • Russell (VINDI) duck tail. Best one, suits the car, no matter what angle you look at it. Needs to be installed and painted
  • JASS front day lights
  • Decent stereos, 6½ on doors and tweeters on A pilars. Old school Pioneer with delphins, love it but miss BT options
  • It was painted in Estonia to original red with five coats of clear.
First thing I did I installed a valve to dump valve pipe and went for sututuu. Turned EBC on and found that Estonia's best tuner hadn't done a good job, it was mainly all in, needed some tuning. Got a blue hardtop that ended up costing 900€ after selling the soft one. Blew 5 speed on third gear pull 2am, got a deal of new one in 15 minutes. When installing it I found out that gearbox had 4 liter of oil and wrong pressure plate for sinter. Previous owner had changed clutch by lifting the front so high that he could pull the box under the engine, then mixed up new and old pressure plates and filled gear box with nose up. At the end bought 6-speed that I had imported from UK 10 years prior to friend who used to be regular here, had/has +400whp NB. He didn't need the 6-speed as he finally then went for ZF after six broken 6-speeds. So installed low mileage NB2 box, ACT six puck sinter and braided line for clutch.
I had searched for 2560R for whole summer with out luck. Until visiting friend, he pulled one from his shelf. Bought it, installed it, sold the 2860RS and went for local cruising night for my first burnouts ever.

Killed set of 13 year old R888's. Love the FWD burnouts.

Turbo, 4.1 Torsen and 6-speed sucks. But just could not find 3.6 Torsen's, Co-worker told that he's cousin had crashed 10th anniversary in he's garage. Chap bought it 2009 and crashed it in first week into 18 wheeler's trailer and had only third party insurance. Car sat in warm garage for 15 years. Parted the whole car just for the 3.6 diff and sold the 4.1 to friend. I've yet to see as rust free NB as it was.
Got Tillett B5 carbon fiber seat from a club member. Had sat in it 15 years ago and second thing I did after buying the car was phone call to him, ask about the seat. But I blew the gearbox before I had time to pick it up. So had to postpone from buying it for a year. Love it, best seat I've had, super comfortable and keeps you still without race seats set backs, easy to get it and get out.

Got the hardtop and ducktail painted red, changed the old CD player to almost new Pioneer DEH-X9600BT and added JL Audio 6" sub that sits on co-drivers footwell. Got Snap-Off quick release and 90mm deep dish steering wheel, mainly for theft prevention.
Burned 8 pairs of tyres so far.
This summer's upgrades were new EV14 870cc and new tune, tho local tuner didn't know how to operate closed loop boost control so it sits at 226hp and 288nm from the engine.
Got hard top lip fitted, ducktail and original front lip going next. Then when the time is right I'll upgrade to Maxxecu Race.

Love it, wish I could swap V8 innit, but local laws are bit strict, NA can have 202hp as stock on paper and 45kg heavier than stock engine.

Cheers guys
