Hey, I was excited to get my car out, so I took it to work. Approx 20-25 min drive mostly highway. Was that a dumb move?
I watched the AFR's and I'd say they were safe for the most part. seemed like it was questionable a bit in cruise though. kinda like it wanted to go full fuel cut or definitely ride the "line" in between so to speak. like it wasn't sure what to pick. That was really the only hairy moments.
Sorry, I haven't set up my Signature yet.. I plan to today.
but the jist is;
94 base Miata
Kraken build 2860rs
stock bottom end
8.5 psi waste gate
I just got into work, and I wanted to ask ya'lls opinion as I'm not confident in myself yet.
On my phone so I can’t look at the log, but try disabling over run fuel cut on the way home. They typically will go in and out of fuel cut during cruise, especially if you’re on a slight down hill. Some settings can be adjusted, but try just disabling it first.

There aren't any portions of the log where fuel was truly cut, though, and the tune shows overrun cut disabled. Fuel isn't really being cut by decel (DE) either, as its setting is very low (well, high if you want to talk of the number entered in TS, but that means not much cut) and it doesn't appear to be getting improperly triggered either that I see.
FWIW, here is an example of an actual overrun fuel cut, from a drive earlier today when I was getting off of the highway.

Madmatter thanks for looking at it. It’s definitely my newb-ness. Maybe Paranoid. I’m sure the WB is sensitive and I just need more time and experience.
note: thanks for showing me that screen shot for that situation. It’s clear where your tps hits zero and your AFRs peak.
I just left work myself. I look at the over run setting and found it also disabled so… yeah
I'm gonna really read the manual again. Try n understand what a person needs to do to have a proper tune.
Personally I’d feel better if I had a knock sensor and a dyno. I’m the type where it bugs me not knowing exactly what is going on.
I have nothing to contribute on the tune side, I long ago gave up and decided to take it to a pro and have him worry about the details. It cost a fair bit, but I decided I can only be an expert on so many things at once. I’d rather work on my (track) driving than work on my driving AND worry about my tune.
But to answer the headline question: yes, you’re dumb, but we’ve all been there, dumbed that. I took my 45 year old Porsche into the hills, where the roads are narrow and twisty, where cell coverage sucks, with a low cell phone battery and no charger, on a shakedown run after it had sat for many years. As darkness was falling. You can guess how that ended.
Welcome to the club, keep your chin up, it’s all good.
