Check out this 323 GTX making over 400bhp, pretty cool build. It's got a BPD engine (from a 323GTR) so it was factory turbo, sequential transmission, car looks beautiful sounds amazing. I love watching these hillclimb videos and I really love the BP engine. It's kinda an underdog or forgotten but you see it show up in a lot of motorsports. Probably one of the best engines Mazda has made all time to be honest it's dead reliable and easy to work on. After I watched this video I went and ripped around in my own BP turbo motor.
Really clean engine bay, nice looking manifold. Can't tell what kinda turbo is on it. Really love those valve covers I want one lol.

Hell yeah man. I'm a BP purist as well, I've had quite a few and none have done me wrong, in both B6 and BP variety . Theres something about that 80s iron block DOHC tech that still does it for me, especially with a turbo slapped to it, or high compression ITB.
Im also a 323gtx nut. I got my first one about 8 years ago and it had 130k on it. I've dailied it on and off and it's nearing 160k now on the turbo b6 and runs perfectly, no smoke and no issues. I have the boost turned up just until the clutch started slipping and backed it off, maybe 160 or 170whp. Stock turbo has held up all these years too. I've done a lot of work to it, but it has been a damn reliable and fun car to own.

YES!!! I think I remember you had that GTX they are really cool cars. I honestly love 80s tech when twin cam/dohc was so new that they put stickers on the car just to let people know lol. The B6T is a really stout motor. I used b6T con rods on my very first BP build and they held up to a lot of abuse. That was back in the day when I was poor and I got a b6t that blew a hg for free and pulled all the parts off it I could use on my build. The b6t rod is almost as good as a GTR rod those are even thicker.
I actually really like turbo 80s motors I wish we had the escort cosworth here in the States that's one of the coolest cars and that YB engine is freaking sweet they are a pinto block but with a dohc cosworth head and a different crank/rods/pistons but it's still just a pinto block. Kinda crazy what you can do with dohc and a turbo haha
