Default NB VVT Crank no start

I finally got my turbo installed and fired up the motor. IT started reasonably well on the NA tune and ran so I brought it up to temp to make sure the cooling system was working. All good so I shut it off happy to end my day that way. I started looking over the tune that night and didn't make any big changes other then setting the injectors to the new 530cc size. Next day, it wouldn't start at all. I reset the injector size and reloaded the original tune, still no start.

Reviewed logs. comp log looks ok. Tooth logger is not helpful and engine and sync logs don't help me either. I replaced the crank and cam sensors with a known good ones.

I'm at a loss now. NB VVT with a kraken 6258 top mount kit. No emissions cause racecar.

Check your crank sensor gap. On "sync" log, there's no trigger signal. On "comp", there's a very delayed activation, it registered 7 trigger errors before registering any crank data. Looks like it's a stock 4 tooth NB wheel? Offset seems excessive. They're typically 0-5 degrees, yours is at 7.6. I can barely see the difference between 0 and .5 degrees, I have no idea how you settled on 7.6.

Since posting I cleaned up the throttle body ground which led me to find that, and imma catch some slack for this one, my upper intake manifold was barely bolted down. So I torqued that down. Cleaned up some of my powder coating on one of the bolts to make better metal to metal contact as well since torquing it down didn't immediately fix it. Got your response and rechecked the crank sensor gap with a CC and it was a little close and changed my off set to 5. Started right up!

Since you asked, the 7.6 was what was in there. I assumed the guy who dyno tuned my NA motor 5 years ago set it. I had never driven that tune though so 'shrug'.

Thanks for responding. I'm betting my loose upper intake was a huge part of my problem.

Check the timing with a light, l might be completely wrong and that’s what your engine needs, but that tells me you may be off a tooth, since cam teeth are ~7.5 degrees.

I'm still researching all this but if anyone has some input to save me time I'd appreciate it.

Timing:

And it now does this when it starts to get warm, 150ish plus degrees. It also warms up super fast at idle. It use to take a lot longer then it does now to get up to temp so.

I've attached the current tune and an Engine + MAP log.

EDIT: Added a warm up log. Also changed injector size to 265 for this warm to see if it was change the pinging but it still happens are it begins to near operating temp. My AFR is crazy rich, like 7.5, the whole time. I'm wondering if my turbo house is just getting hot and causing a mechanic ping as the tolerances change..

Alright, I made some progress after my last post earlier this week and then had to skip out for a few days.

The pinging was definitely knock. It was just so mechanical sounding I didn't believe it. I cleaned and recalibrated my wideband and set injector dead time to 1ms, per many posts I found around the internet, at and above 13v. This helped get my AFR in line and maybe even a little rich at idle which I'm fine with right now. Also ended the knock. The big goal is to be able to drive it around the driveway and up into a trailer so I can get it to a tuner.

Next up i need to figure out why my idle is so high and why it rises as the engine temp rises as well as some other things.

Feel free to post help, snark or questions here but I'm dropping this thread and going back to my build thread for updates over here -> TT focused track build

Thanks for the help.
