Hi guys,
I have a question about my EBC + BOV setup.
I have a Garrett T25 on a 1,6 NB (available only here in Europe), EMU, small FMIC, OEM Audi S3 recirc BOV and new PIT BCU boost controller. http://www.performance-trends.com/boost_controllers.htm
When I drive the car and let go off the throttle I can hear the EBC venting the air. Which brought me to the question - is my BOV now "unemployed"?
(I did use the recirc BOV because I am running the MAF and didn't want to confuse the ECU because of measured intake air venting to atmo.)
And some more questions about the EBC - I am currently running my values like that -
low boost 6.5 PSI (for daily driving)
high boost 8.5 PSI (at the moment, until EMU is fully dialed in)
low gain 28%
high gain 25%
start boost 4 PSI
Does that sound about right to you?
Thanks

Absolutely not. The EBC solenoid is going to vent a trivial amount of air to modulate the wastegate can, but the BOV's role in releiving large volumes of air to keep the wheel spinning and silence the turkey is still just as it was before.

Sure, set it on the sidewalk outside your flat and buy an inexpensive MBC.
Seriously, though. I think I speak for the entire forum when I say that I've never even heard of that EBC, much less used it. Most of us are cheapskates running ball & spring controllers, or using the EBC function of our MegaSquirts. As horrifying as it sounds, I'm afraid you're simply going to have to read the manual, follow the directions, and figure it out for yourself.

Hi,
I have got just another quick question.
I just undid my EBC and I have seen on a log, that the Wastegate is fixed to something like 6.0-6.5 Psi. My EBC was dialed at 6.5 PSI too. Is it possible, that the nearly equal setting has caused some problems - because my autotuned I/J-settings at the EMU were sometimes quite strange.
