Default KYB/GC bit of help.

Bah, so I bought my ground control coilovers from someone on this forum. They said that these were previously on a kyb/agx setup so I figured that I would just need to buy the kybs/bumpstops and install.

Well apparently i do not have the aluminum ring that the coilover perches need in order to rest on the shock body correctly.

This is what i do not have:

Is there any other way to install these, or am i stuck trying to source some of these rings?

Also, does anyone know where i can buy just the rings?

Contact GC and see if you can buy that part.

What I.D. and O.D.? You might find some tubing cutoffs at the local metal dealer.

I called GC and i cannot just order the rings. This sucks.

Ill measure the I.D. of the coilover sleeves, but i don't know the I.D of the metal ring.

As a quick fix you could leave the KYB spring perches in place, rest the sleeve on that. It'll effect the amount you can lower the car.

In the long run measure the shock and have a ring made.

So i finally contacted someone from GC that helped me out. This is what they wrote:

As near as I can tell, that is a correct tube for an agx adapter. I have no idea why there has never been an adapter in the tube, because that specific tube is only used with an adapter. The whole "kit" is -real- sketchy. The gold nuts are also not intended for a Miata as you probably know.

We can sell you the miata/agx adapters for $28 each.

So.. now i have to pay $120 for little aluminum rings? ****.

I guess i just need to stop buying used ****, as i keep getting the short end of the stick. With how much I'm going to be spending i may as well of bought a set brand new.

And since i live in a small town, i really doubt there is anywhere i could get these things made locally.

This sucks, Goddamnit.

/end rant.

PM me, I'll give you the exact specs on the rings (I'm about to bore my AGX rings to fit my Bilstein HD shocks).
