Default Will 1-pc axles fit into torsen originally with 2-pc axle?

Hi, I'm trying to find some axle for a torsen swap. I got a 94 unit that still has the axle stubs in it, but the 2-pc axle are a little bit more pricey. Will the 1-pc axle work if I pull out the axle stubs?

Any advantages to either?

the only difference is the axle end, the axle nut is larger and the thread pattern is different.

surprised the 2-piece are more expensive, I picked mine up for $25 each with stubs.

advantage with 1-piece design would be space savings to route a 3" exhaust...

I think the spline is different too. However that varies with year. I had 2 sets of 1-piece axles...one fit and one didn't into my 1991. I know the '00 axles were too big, the mystery 1-piece axles fit.

solomiata.com does not mention a change in the splines....i never heard of it myself, but I've never tried.

I don't know if the spline diameter issue is discussed anywhere, but the ones from the '00 swap car, which I pulled out of a rear subframe did not fit the 1.6 hubs because the spline teeth were too tall.

In the past year, I have run 1.6 axles, two-piece 1.8 axles, and one-piece 1.8 axles. Never came across a difference in spline. And interestingly, the original 1.6 axle nuts fit on all three sets. However, I ended up using some new nuts I ordered specifically for the one-piece axles in preparation, which also worked.
