Unhappy I did a dumbass thing.

Whilst trying to update my EMU software from Laptop to Main Unit I switched it all off part way through the update cycle, as the ignition was on and the engine wasn't - I didn't want to fry another Bosch wideband sensor. Now I have no connectivity between laptop and EMU and the car won't run properly. It just idles and spits if I try to rev the engine.

Is there a re-set button?

thanks

Nick

Dont know if this is any help, but on a subaru if you do that it fries the ecu...I have also done the same thing on an rsx a long time ago, and it fried the ecu as well... the car started, but smoked like crazy, only revved to 3k and backfired like crazy. idle was all messed up too...had to replace ecu

*edit- you have a piggyback, and not actually reflashing the ecu...nevermind, I'm a dumbass

Eeow, frying the ecu, not fun.

Solution logged for reference!

Fortunately I got some good advice from Phil Dixon at P5 here in the Uk and from a Mx5Nutz forum member as follows:

I reset the stock Ecu, removed Emu software from my lappy then re-installed it. Re-installed to Emu Main Unit, spent a fun 20 mins re-entering the parameters. and fired her up. All seems Ok now thank gawd.
