Default Intake manifold

I was on eBay today and was thinking has any one ever bought one of those civic sheet metal intake manifolds and cut the flange off and welded up a flange for a Miata? If not then if some one has a civic manifold could you measure the runners to see if they come close to the runners on a 99 Miata?

Wow. Is this for real? I mean, we're actually talking about taking an OBX manifold made out of thin sheet aluminum for a B16 engine, cutting the ends off, and welding it to the cast head flange of a Miata engine?

It's been done using the Edelbrok IM. IIRC, the flange is cutoff and the miata one welded on. There are two examples of it being used on this site. see CEO's setup.
