new here, of course
got a 92 black n tan, not new to forced induction, and have some experience and LOADS of research. lol.
i'm currently working on a DIY turbo on my miata. was going to twin turbo my otm, but couldnt find another matching turbo on a budget, and i came into a miata with loads of extra parts, in there was another manifold... so i came up with this crazy idea... lets put a turbo on the miata!
so i started hoarding more parts, and now i'm to the point where i'm gathering up the last few nuts and bolts, and have started fabbing my manifold from a stock flange, an ebay turbo inlet flange and some ace hardware schedule 40 steel pipe.
will be running about 8 psi from a stock 2002 wrx turbo, td04. intercooled via either a supercoupe alum intercooler, a top mount turbocoupe/svo intercooler, or a cheap ebay one, and with a 255 inline pump (yet to be bought) a set of supercoupe 30# injectors (hey, they were free!) and a greddy afpr. (traded a computer case for it.)
all i have in the setup as of now is the price of the piping 20 bucks... include the turbo in exchange for an xbox. (worth about 30 bucks) and the computer case (50).... and the most expensive part, my flanges. 36 dollars for ss machined flanges makes it about 136 dollars total.
i have a pipe bender, welder, etc. so fabbing isnt an issue.
dotn have much done with it thus far, and my tbird will be holding my attention for the next few days (doing a full 2.5" exhaust on it, true duals...)

Welcome to the board.
By your comments, I can infer that you're looking to turbo your car with the cheapest, "reliable" kit. If that is the case, search for threads started by lazzer and you'll get a wealth of info!

thx for the nudge in the right direction. i'm not too green, but i still have lot of lurking and info to absorb!
my next quest will be id'ing low/high impedance injectors and how to operate each!
also.. where do i find instructions on an o2 clamp? i know what they do.. but i know not how to fabricate, obtain, or use this mythical creature.
so i guess off to the tuning area i go, eh?

I think there is a thread in the for sale section where olderguy explains the how's of an o2 clamp. he's selling them though, so probably wont give you the step by step on how to make one.
injector wise Id recommend not messing with low impedance: stick with something that works without any trouble or tweaking: high impedance
