cuing the piston > cutting springs. Think of all the travel you've gained.

It was a Bilstein HD, it happened on the way home from class. All I heard was what sounded like running over two small pieces of metal and a faint hissing sound. Got home and there was a small puddle of oil under that corner (DR). Scratched my head for a minute, then got out the jack...

Edit - I also get to clean a fair amount of oil out of my trunk, yippee!

That is exactly how mine are mounted. I hate the oversteer though...

Cool vid, that must've been scary! What do you mean about the mounting though?

Not too scary, just felt bad that I couldn't catch it and happy that there was no damage to the car other than dirth.

I was just making fun of the blown damper. Mine are mounted just as they should be - like yours before blowing one up.

Ah ok, I thought you were replying to someone.

I'm off to make some WTB threads...

n/m about the WTB threads, the car can't be down too long, just ordered some.

I hope that bad things really do just happen in threes. First the steering rack, then the back bumper (tore it in the carport..), now this damn shock. Fingers crossed!

Now I'm starting to think I must have jacked up the install somehow, or maybe it worked itself a bit loose in the mount, I'm not too smart with this stuff though. Thoughts?

You didn't use an impact on the top shock bolt did you?

Nope, no impact. Shaikh and I have spoken about this and the only thing we can figure is that there wasn't any (or enough) threadlocker on this corner. I have new hardware in my hands now from him, and he's sending me an "upgrade" package with the new style bushings and washers for the other corners. Going to be a bit more downtime but should be worth it in the end.
