i bought this data cable of ebay said to work in the same way as the greddy cable it arrived today and actually looked nice but then i noticed. the used the wrong plug on the PC end of it so i can't even plug it in to my computer or either of the other two laptops i have. just goes to show shopping cheaper isn't always shopping smarter.

 

if you mean that outdated serial type connection then, no, they didn't put the wrong plug, that's what the greddy cable uses too. you can use a serial to usb adapter to hook it up to your modern laptop. I use I/O Gears part # GUC232A

 

I really hope he means they used a female/male connector in place of what it should have been.

actually i got it figured it a friend of mine had his custom made that's why it was different from the one i ordered so i just got a rs232 to usb adapter instead

 

The DB9 to USB's are dirt cheap on eBay. Few bucks for them shipped.

 

Originally, I was running with a DKU-5 nokia cable modified, for the emanage, which allowed USB on the computer end, with a usb end for the emb.

Unfortunately, it stopped working well, last year, so I just ordered a serial to usb cable for the emb. Need to get a stock usb to serial adapter.....
