Default FM proportionaing valve group buy

Would anyone be interested in trying to get a FM proportioning valve group buy together? I'm getting ready to order one, but thought we might be able to save ten bucks if we get five or ten people to buy. This has not been discussed with FM. This is just a feeler. If no one responds to this, I'll probably go ahead and order mine tonight.

Default Talked to FM

I talked to keith at FM. He didn't quite say no, but sounded reluctant. Apparently they did one for this forum in the past and about 2% of the people that said they would by actually bought. He also said that they are probably going to do a 3" exhaust groupd buy first. Keith said he would post on the forum if a group buy was started. First he had to talk to his boss.

Based on this info: Sounds like group buy is no go, but I'll wait until this evening to see if keith posts anything. I really thought the idea of a group buy would have sparked much more enthusiasm from FM.

It didn't spark any enthusiasm this time simply because they worked to bring the Wilwood kit out and almost everyone that said they were in backed out and didn't buy, which is what he told you. Would you want to invest your time and resources in a group of people that did that to you once already on the same product?

FWIW, they did have a group buy on these things on their website Group Buy section a while back as well, and they met the number of people required to make it happen. I think if people are putting their money forward to begin with, it will be taken much more seriously.

I'd be in for a group buy if we can save $10+ on it.

I'd be in, the front bias is ridiculous.

I got in on the last group buy they did for the Wilwood proportioning valve - I think they took 15-20% off, can't remember, but it was a pretty nice discount.

Looks like about 7 people.. idk if that warrants a group buy, either way I can wait or do it now, so doesn't really matter to me.

What I said was that, if we did one, it would be through our own Group Buy center instead of through a forum. That opens it up to everyone, not just one forum. It also means it's far more likely to go through.

It was actually the MT.net "group buy" for the Wilwood valves that prompted us to set up our Group Buy center in the first place. 20% of the people (2 out of 10, not 2%) who said "yah! me!" actually followed through, whereas we get 100% with the Group Buy center and everyone gets their stuff faster. It's been a win for everybody so far.

Anyhow, enough of that. Sounds like there's a fair bit of interest, so I'll see if I can convince Bill that we need to do another one. I'm also trying to put one together for the NA and NB 3" exhaust systems.

I e-mailed Keith about a possible group buy so hopefully those who haven't already purchased one will stand by their interest in the prop valve.

A staged pricing format where 5+ people gets X savings, 10+ people gets Y savings, etc, would be ideal here since it will probably be tough to get 10 people.

once FM put the valve on their new group buy site, orders filled in fast. I got my prop valve through the last GB.

Yes. My post was in response to that. The less polite version of what I posted: "I was the one who pointed Keith as this thread so don't waste our time by flaking on us and making me look bad".

Oh **** it all makes sense. I thought you were saying that after his post you emailed him..

My bad. I have a feeling if they post it on the the group buy section of the FM site there will be quite a few people buying in no time.
