Default What do you think this noise could be?????

Ok so I have been thinking that my car may have a knocking rod, but it only happens at in like 1st gear at mid to high rpms. I don't hear it higher up but that may be due to wind noise. Although it doesn't make the sound while idling or freely revving it up. I do know it needs a clutch and was wondering if it could possible just my clutch making noise. Oh and it'll also make this noise on start up. I ask cause if it just strongly sounds like the clutch id much rather drive my car back to South Fl than take a plane ride so I could have some wheels down there.

and maybe go to the meet they are having down there next month lol.

Seriously doubt it's rod knock, I can tell you from personal and recent experience that it's pretty obvious. I bent a rod pretty good, and you could feel it through the clutch, loud as **** except during cranking where it was pretty much silent.

Is the frequency always the same at a given RPM? If not, that would probably rule out a motor issue.

I'd grab a stethescope (or long screwdriver) and try to track id down at idle.

Out of curiosity, what kind of torque are you making? Looks like stock by your sig.
