i hooked up my adaptronic in my 99 get lights on the ecu but getting no connection to my laptop to load the base map does anyone have any ideas? im sure its something i missed my laptop finds the hardware but cant load it so i cant get my map loaded, need some help fellas

 

So when you hook up your laptop, the gauges display something other than the defaults?

 

Are you plugged into the right rs232 port?

 

the gauges do nothing it never says ready to load map, its like my laptop is not reading that the ecu is there but the ecu has power and is hooked up by the instructions on boundarys site, i get the typical sound you get when you hook anything into your laptop but i dont get a response when i open the wari file so i can load the base map to the ecu. it has me puzzled

 

i plugged into the one on the left side and i converted it to usb, since it says that the right side is for the wb. am i wrong did i misunderstand the instructions?

 

Just checking. Could be your usb->serial unit. Can you verify that it works correctly with another device?

 

i dont have anything else to hook it up to to check it, i assume it works since when i plug the usb into my laptop i hear the sound and it says new hardware found but it wont load the hardware says no driver found and the wari program shows no reponse no port opened.

 

Ah, ok.

You need to get a driver for your USB->serial unit. It is the USB converter that windows is asking you for the driver, not the adaptronic.

Once the USB converter is working properly you should now have a COM port that WARI will be able to talk to.

 

i never thought i had to load the cd for the cable i assumed windows would pick it up automatically, i knew it was something simple hahah now wheres that damn cd at! im sure i will be back on here asking for knowledge on some tuning, is it fairly easy to tune with the adaptronic?

 

so i got it to start just need to get the cable for the wide band so i can tune to the target afr, when setting the idle how much fuel did you have to add to get it to idle right i had it past 30% and it was not affecting the afrs i dont want to add to much but i still think it was not enough im my opinion
