Default I need oil pump measurements. From you.

Got a stock oil pump lying around? (Doesn't matter if the gears are shattered to hell.) I need some help.

Specifically, I'm looking for a measurement of the thickness of the oil pump gears. Gotta be precise- micrometer preferred, good digital calipers acceptable (but I'll make fun of you for not owning the proper tools.)

I need data from a late-production '99 or any '00 model year (non-VVT), and also from any year of VVT engine. I already have on-hand what I believe is an early-production '99 gearset (gotta check my old paperwork for the VIN).

If anybody has a late model NA, that'd be a good dataset to have on-hand for cross-referencing, too.

And if you don't have a stock pump handy from one of these years, well, you're pretty damn worthless to me then, aren't you? Why don't you just go somewhere else.

Travis measured one from a 2001 motor that I was in posession of.

I suppose that is simply circular information to you though.

PS are you taking strong cold medicine with your rum and cokes for the last couple days?

If the one that he measured is the one that I measured on our optical CMM when designing the billet ones, I still have those gears in a drawer at home. I can get the thickness measurement but I don't know if they are the 2001 gears.

I got the whole pump back and sold it. So either that's not the pump or someone's got reeeeeeeeal low oil pressure right about now.

So I checked the VIN on Jessica's oil pan. JM1NB353XX0136036. According to the 10AE FAQ (the donor was a 10AE), that gives it a production date of March 25, 1999, after the cutoff point.

Now, to find the gears from the oil pump so I can measure them...

I have a blown 2001 block I'll be pulling out of the car. I could likely get you the measurements sometime after the 20th.

I think I saw a set of stock gears in the junk drawer in the kitchen today. I'll check tomorrow. They'd be out of a '99 pump if they're there (brand new stock gears out of my current pump).
