Default Which flywheel and clutch for my turbo 1.8 NA?

I'm trying to decide on which flywheel and clutch I should get for my turbo 1.8 NA?

I'm not putting FI on it this year, but I do want it soon.

I plan on building a Megasquirt ECU this winter and using it for management on the stock motor next summer.

I'd like the car to feel revvy like my 1.6 does.

Which flywheel and clutch combination will give me the feel I'm looking for with the durability to handle the turbo?

Thanks

1.6L Fidanza flywheel. ~7.4-lbs.

1.6l ACT extreme pressure plate. ~ 8 lbs. I think

Organic SS clutch disc will work if your power level is low. And it will engage smooth and it is lighter than the puck discs.

6 puck will hold a lot more torque if you go FI and really doesn’t engage hard at all. It launches smooth to me.

4 puck saves more weight and only engages slightly harder

Un-sprung disk saves more weight but be prepared for a lot of drive train buzz on cost down and at certain RPMS.

I have run the 1.6l extreme with a puck disk for a number of years now on a car making ~300+ ft-lbs of torque. It works good. The sprung center doesn’t like that much torque though. Kept blowing out the spring retaiment and rivets holding the center together. Currently running a 4 puck un-sprung and I drive it on the street regularly. Totol rotating assembly I believe is around 15 lbs.

For a bit more money though I think the 949 racing twin would be the cats meow.

Why would they recommend a heavier flywheel (13.5 lbs) for a supercharged car than they do for a turbocharged one (10.3 lbs)?

Cool thread, I was looking for the same info. Anyone know a good setup under $600, or is Flying miata the only option?

To prevent stalling problems with positive displacement chargers. My 10lb flywheel works just fine on my supercharged rotrex car.
