hey, I'm looking for the cheapest route to get coilovers. is there by chance any sort of coilover kit or cheaper route than getting 1k coilovers? sorry im a noob, i need some help.

I just bought used koni yellows with an ebay sleeve and springs for under $500, that problaly the cheapest you wanna go.

 

I tried to be cheap with Koni's but ended up quite expensive.
How much you are willing to spend depends on what you want from the coilovers. I did it all wrong, buying Koni Sportkit, then heard of FCM topmounts. These topmounts are good but made the Koni springs useless. The stock springs were too soft so I ended up buying Koni sleeves with eibach springs because the salesman of Groundcontrol proved to be a ********. All and all I wished I have spend all this money on a proper AST or revalved monotube bilstein coilover. So decide what your wishes are before you buy.
Ebay Koni's and a cheap ebay coiloversleeve could work. The coils are useless as you can find in suspensiontopics here. If you can source some better (longer) springs with the correct rating, you'll be fine. I couldn't as I live in Europe and shipping is at least $100 for each item. So for me it was cheaper to buy new of one seller. It all added up though...

Cutting your stock springs would be the cheapest, a lot of people do it, it must be good.

 

Buy mine there not cheap but they are everything you need or want all the kinks worked out.

 

Having had 3 different suspension setups on my 91, I can honestly say "save up every dime you can and get the best setup you can afford".
If you are a college kid with no cash that only wants to go low while not caring about ride quality or real handling, then the Ricelands will be perfect and cannot be beat, you can't even just replace shocks for that price. I had Ricelands on my 91 for over a year before switching to SD Bilsteins in order to get better track reliability. I never tracked the Racelands, but was fairly pleased with them on the street, that is till I drove the Bilsteins and relized what real grip feels like. If you do not have any track/autocross goals, then the Ricelands will get you through a few years till you can get better shocks.
Once again, I recommend you get the best you possibly can. A few hundred more might sound alot, but pulling shocks 3 times is a pain in the ***. I can do it in my sleep, but doesnt mean I want to! Good luck

A super low ride that will be horrible. Do it right the first time around with quality components. This can be done around $1000. Try to find a used low mileage setup and you can get a lot for the money.
