What are Tein Driving Master HA?
Hi guys I took off my old Teins, I looked at them today and they say TEIN DRIVING MASTER HA. I did a search on here and did not see anything about them. Are they any good I was wondering if they are worth having me or someone else rebuilding them? Thanks for any information!

Entry level coil overs, 5-10 years old. Tein can rebuild them, base charge is $80 per. BUT that assumes that they need nothing replaced, and as old as they are, that's not likely to be the case. It could realistically cost $500-600 to rebuild, before shipping. As you can get a brand new set of the current similar (but better) model for about $700, I wouldn't think they're worth rebuilding.

Those are TEIN HA. Disregard the "driving master" bit. Searching for TEIN HA will get you some results.
They were the first TEIN set introduced in the US. That was around 2003ish. They made a separate NA and NB model back then. The FLEX were introduced a year or two later as an upgrade. Then the SS coilovers replaced the HAs.
The HA are valved more aggressively than the FLEX. But they come with very soft springs. Can't remember off the top of my head... 5k front, 4k rear? Pretty soft. They're not shock body adjustable. Just collar height. The shock has a damper adjustment on top, unlike the Basic/Basis. The shock bodies are slightly shorter in the rear than stock shocks. The SS came shorter still. They also had an optional gold spherical bearing tophat that quite a few people bought. Usually they just went in the rear. Take a look in your trunk and see if your shock tops are gold.
I've used the HAs for years. I love them. They're incredibly comfortable on the street and decently competent on the track. Not the best track suspension ever, but in my 12 years with Miatas, I've never experienced a more comfortable street ride. I've put over 80k on mine.
