Default Want Racing Brake brake pads to be made for the Miata?

I've had really good luck using the Racing Brake hybrid pads (ET series) on my WRX and was really hoping to get them for my Miatas, but they haven't started making the application yet. I contacted them and they started a thread on their boards to show up some interest and they'll more strongly consider starting them up soon. So, if you've ever used them, or want what I've found to be the best hybrid pad out there, post up on this thread telling them so:

(I have absolutely no connection with RB, nor would/do I get any discount from this, I've just been super happy with their ET500 pad and really want them for the Miata.)

Whats wrong with Hawk's HP+? Or HPS, whatever their more aggressive one is.

I raced on quite a few pairs on 1.8 brakes and two days now with my wilwoods. They do great, if I need more braking I think I'd have to go to a full race pad.

Hawks squeal like hell and dust like hell. Their braking is fine, but do you really want to sound like a truck every time you stop at a light, and after every 4 runs at an autocross have gunmetal wheels? That's why I stopped using Hawks.

Mine have never squealed. They do dust though, that's for sure.

I had absurdly bad squealing with the HP+ on the WRX. Never tried them on a Miata, maybe the lighter car helps.

The HPS was worse braking than a stock pad, and still dusted like hell. I ran the HP+ on the old car until I used them up (which didn't take long), but I could wash my (silver) wheels, and 4 autocross runs later they were literally gunmetal again from the dust.

I used their 1521 ("Bobcat") a while back. It felt like a stock pad in every way except that it cost 3x as much. Threw them out a few weeks into having them.

The HP+ worked fine with RS2s and stock power on the track. With the turbo added they are showing their heat tolerance limitations. Adding slicks would do them in by the start of the second lap.

So, a racing brake manufacturer doesn't know if they should make a pad for the most raced single model of automobile in the history of automobiles? I'd say don't bother. Nobody tracks or autocrosses a Miata that they also drive on the street. That would be absurd, lol.

fyi if you have stock brakes and cant find a good race pad carbotech will make them for you. they will put any compound on any backing plate you want. at least this was the case ..well now that I think about it 10 years ago they did this for me. I got race pads but on a set of stock audi a4 backing plates and was the envy of all my peers hehe.

Racing Brake is a piece of ---- bastard company and I ------- hate them. I bought their fancy $360 Corrado rotors back when I was rich. I called the guy, he promised me that they wouldn't fail quickly and that I had nothing to worry about. One rotor cracked on the second day and he refused to mail me another rotor so I sold the hubs and went back to Raybestos rotors that lasted longer and were $30 each rather than $180 for rotor rings.

That guy and his company are a huge piece of ----, spend your money wisely and with a company with a little more integrity.

There, I feel better.

That's the antithesis of my experience. I went back to Hawk because I could deal with all the dust and noise at half the price, more than double the life, and pads that stopped the car effectively. I also don't care for a magical burnishing process that I could not seem to do properly, that costs me money in track time, that is totally stupid in general because it requires you to either only race the car or change pads and rotors at the track. Another stupid company with a stupid product.

Are you doing "good mornings", reverse hypers, and cleans? Good mornings are the #2 more important exercise you can do behind deads for general strength and injury avoidance.
