I need help with my 1991 Miata
I Need all experienced NA Miata owners advise.
I want to tear down my 91 1.6 B6-ZE engine and Im going to use "Mx-5 Miata 1.6 Enthusiast's Workshop Manual". I am a beginner at mechanics and I know more or less how to fix and replace certain things like Rack and pinion, striping the car, removing entire dash, cv joints, timing belt, Major tune up etc.
But I actually want to tear down the engine to learn, but Im afraid of messing up by putting the wrong after market parts. I just want to change all the seals and gaskets and maybe adding some extra horse power "Naturally Aspirated" while getting to the bottom of the block.
My goal is to make the block new and with some horse power added like forged pistons, camshaft, cam gears etc for a low cost. I want it to have good internals so that it can be quicker and maybe later on slap on a turbo.
The car is being built for street use only.
What do you guys recommend I should do?
What book can be good for me besides the Enthusiast's Work shop Manual?
Is it worth, tearing down the block to make it new or how I want it?
I am open to all your thought's, info's, opinion's and recommendation's.
