Does anyone know what nissan turbo is a "2560"? I find a ton of T25's T28's, T28R (2560R) but can't find out what nissan turbo number is a "2560" that is best for our cars.

Tahnks,
Drew

I believe the infamous "T28" found on the sr20, is basically a 2560.

It's only on S15 SR20s. The run on the mill S13 and S14 motors aren't 2560s. Also, a 2560R is a 2560. The 'R' just denotes ball bearings.

So basically they're rare on nissans, and still not the real deal ball bearing 2560 everyone on here raves about

Still nice tho

All s13's used a 56mm compressor wheel which makes the turbo similar to the gt2554. This is the most common sr20 turbo.
The s14 used a 60mm compressor wheel and it was basically a journal bearing 2560.

Check the Nissan forums. 2 months ago I bought a brand new (in nissan parts box) S15 bb turbo for $730 shipped. according to Garrett its the same as a 2560r except for the inconel turbine wheel/cast divider wall in the turbine housing and the Inlet/outlet on the turbo require adapters

Guys, this is simple.

S13 red/blacktop turbo: Small t25, journal bearing, a 2554 basically.
s14 notchback turbo: bigger t25, journal bearing, a 2560 basically.
s15 vvt turbo: bigger t25, BALL BEARING, same size as s14 turbo - 2560 basically.

So you want a BB 2560? Find a s15 turbo. I THINK (not sure though) some of the late s14 motors also had these, but still rare.

Edit: just read thirdgens post above. Looks like the s14 "silvia" was ball bearing as well? I do know the ball bearing versions are the rarest, but i've seen them for around 350 bucks a few times now. This is what I'm getting for my new build..

Late s14 turbos had a single ball bearing on exhaust and a journal bearing on the intake side. s15 turbos had dual ball bearings. Hope that clears some things up.

TIL. Thanks. I know there was a considerable difference in spool between the two.
