WTB: 04/05 6 speed shifter
I'm starting to hate this 6 speed.
Ok, I need a SHIFTER from a 2004 6 speed. This is a non MSM 6 speed. I'm hoping one of you guys who bought a MiataRoadster or (other) shifter has a spare stocker sitting in your toolbox/garage/
LMK, thanks!

The ball on the end of the shifter itself?
MiataRoadster has some dimensions listed on there site, it looks like the MSM one could fit... This is one of those times when I really REALLY miss working in the machine shop.
Ryan: LMK if you find it, you are literally my only lead thus far.

Ok gays, here is the deal:
I can get a brand new one from Mazda for $95.61
LEVER,CHANGE (Y601-17-510D) - $95.61 - Y60117510D
But I would prefer NOT to put another $100 into this.
I can get a used one from "Project-G" in Los Angles for $75. Project-G Homepage [www.projectgla.com]
I would prefer not to pay $75 for one. I would also prefer not to do business with them if I don't have to. That website is... well... yeah.
What I WOULD prefer to do give my money to someone on this site that can halp. The $5 bill above is obviously a joke. You want $20? How about $50? You tell me what you want for it. I'll even pay for shipping.
Here, have some random busty woman from the internet, that seems to get you attention:

You haz my attention! But I haz no shifter for you :( My shifter is early 2001, before the change. MiataRoadster breaks down the change in shifter ball by VIN on their short shifter page.
I visited that webpage you listed above and became entrapped in some vortex ... couldn't stop watching the video ... was almost able to comprehend the vocals ... lost 5 minutes of my life that I can never get back. Thanks Gordon.

I was like "wait, she sings?!"
Its definitely a late one, from 2004 LS according to the VIN tag. If I had access to a lathe I might be stupid enough to try to make a set of adapter bushings. As far as I can tell, all Mazda did was change the diameter of the end ball and the shifter ball. All else should be equal. All holes are bigger for the later trannies like mine so adapting the smaller pivots would be theoretically possible.
But I don't have a lathe, much like I don't have a shifter.

Need later shifter because i has later tranny. It has/needs bigger ***** on shaft.
Talk of custom parts to use earlier shifter in later trans is purely academic. I'd buy Mobius shifter if I could use it, but I can't, so I won't.
This boobies thing seems to be working:
