Plug and prayed, dead in the water.
I get nothing. I finally get my IAT welded into my crossover pipe near the TB and decided to try and start the car with my 'plug and play' MS setup from Kingofl337. Nothing. No lights lit on the MS unit either. I am sure it is something simple but it has reminded me of what I might be getting into. I started this mainly to fix my midrange power but I am really having second thoughts. I might just trade it for a better FMU and a bipes. I know I am a loser but when it comes down to it, I am hurting for money and I just want a reliable 6psi until I can go crazy with fmic, rear end, clutch, etc.. Any ideas on what to check? I am already frustrated and I haven't even started!

The car turns over fine, but I didn't listen for the fuel pump. The fact that none of the LEDs on the MS came on so I figured I wasn't going to have any luck. Kingofl337 said it had a base map but I can't verify it because I can't connect to it. The car runs fine when I switch it back to stock ecu fuel and spark. I would try one at a time but I really don't think either will work.

I bought the USB to serial from diyautotune but my old laptop didn't connect either and I thought it was a problem with the laptop. The main reason was because I couldn't connect to the wideband either. Still working on that one also. Funny, I never had problems wiring my 89 turbo rx7.

In our setups, they serve no purpose at all.
In a 'regular' setup they will do 'squirt', 'warmup' and 'acceleration'.
Do you have MegaTune installed on your computer? That question can be easily answered by looking at Basic Settings, then Codebase and Outputs Function
As to your problem of not starting, have you looked at the .msq that was loaded onto the MegaSquirt? There can be about 20 different reasons why it won't start just because of slightly incorrect variables.
If your first instincts are to sell your MegaSquirt then I would strongly suggest that you run with those feelings. The MegaSquirt is a DIY ECU, not a cheap ECU. If you bought it because it is cheap and can't DIY to save yourself then cut your losses, sell it, and buy a 'customer' setup like a FM Link. Running with a DIY ECU that you don't understand is a recipe for failure/disaster.

I learned VB and I used all of that knowledge to make some stupid math games for my class. Now, I've forgotten most of it.
And I have trouble committing to anything car related.

Well, for some reason my wideband connected and is working fine with the car running off of the stock ecu. Now I can't wait to datalog a run with the ole fmu. Stupid snow.
Unfortunately, I still can't connect to the MS. Fuel pump is running but the car wont start with either fuel or spark switched on. I still don't know what the map looks like because I can't see it. It's not the com port because the wideband works. I am sure it has a base map. I will take it apart and take some pictures when I can.
