Street Pads and Rotors $200 budget setup
Looking for a quite but powerful street brake setup thats budget friendly. The car has 160k on it with wood pads and warped rotors. The car will see no track time but occasional mountain runs. I went on rockauto.com and I can get the following.
Pronto Rotors $10 rear and $14 front
Centric C-Tek Ceramic Pads $14 front and $10 rear
So a total of about $100 shipped, then grab some stainless lines off 949racing. This would total out to about $200 which is my budget. Is there a better way to spend this money?

I would love to take you up on that but for a street only car I'm not putting up with squeaking brakes. I normally daily my cars on some form of Carbotech combo, just looking for good street brakes that are quiet this time around.
For just a bit more, the StopTech Street Performance pads are really good. Set of fronts on Rock Auto is ~$35 IIRC. I've actually been tracking these without issues at MSR-C. They're para-aramid like the Carbotech's, but quiet. Black dust, easily cleaned.

The Ceramics pads dont have the initial bite of a semi metallic but they are quite and work for a daily. Did some mountain runs and they fade just as fast as any street pad.
I just got some stainless lines from Mazda Parts from Good-Win Racing - Mazda Performance Specialists I've bought a ton of stuff from them and they've always been fantastic, they're a site sponsor too.

I'm running Advanced groups now. Still using them. My home track is easy on brakes though.

I did track down some numbers for the StopTechs. The Mu is ~0.4 -- on the high side for street but lower than most race pads (typical values for Hawk/Carbotech/PFC is 0.5 to 0.65 depending on compound). The MOT is ~1300°F, which is excellent. Plus, $32 for a set of fronts!

I like seeing numbers, 1300*F is very impressive for a street pad. Price is absolutely unbeatable, that's the big reason I want to try them. I love Cobalt Friction pads, but the nearly-$200 pricetag for fronts alone is a killer.
