Whats up everyone. I am wanting to install new fuel injectors in my 99 supercharged miata, but I'm not sure what size to get or if it will really help me any with power output. Im only running 5psi at the moment but would like to bump it up someday. What are your thoughts on this?

You're using a huge Whipple and are running a Motec, right?

 

Before we go down propping people, let's recognize that there's more to fuel injector selection than just flow rate. Other critical values are spray pattern, atomization, and response time. The injectors in the shared FAQ are ancient technology and I've found little information on miataturbo.net that brings the craft into the modern era.

Anyway, it's best to use a solution that excels in all the variables that I just mentioned. With a standalone ECU, one has free reign to optimize your tune and can make the most of your injectors. Otherwise, it's like running an elite suspension with obsolete-spec tires.

P.S. I'll speak with authority about this topic because I'm a fuel injection specialist.

PS: I recently bought Injector Dynamics ID725s since they're among the best of the current crop from what I've read on the "internetz" and are more linear than the ID1000s. I have an Adaptronic e440 Select ECU which also influenced this decision since Adaptronic have specific support for these injectors.

Yep, I very well may. There are huge gains to be had when the optimal bits are used. -sharper throttle response, faster turbo spool/more mid-range torque, easier cold start, smoother idle, superior fuel efficiency, cleaner emissions...

I saw this fueling topic, though, and decided to break my silence. Soonish or later, I'll share details on my own NA6 turbo project which is coming together nicely. It'll feature advanced fueling bits and also water/meth injection. That's another one of my areas of serious expertise. Miataphiles are soooo in the dark.
