That's the cleanest speaker install I've ever seen in a Miata. And I don't even like car audio! Did you fabricate that yourself?

The defroster will come on automatically when you turn the fan **** to any position other than "off".

Seriously. If that's DIY that's beautiful.

If you seriously did the fiberglass for that yourself, you need to take it off RIGHT NOW and make a mold for it so you can make more. I am not a car audio nerd but that looks really well done and I am sure there are people out there that would pay you for a copy.

Thanks! A lotta hard work, but fun. I need to modify it a bit and spray it. I thought about selling these but fiberglassing is not cheap. I just ordered more fiberglass mat for my sub. stay tuned......Oh, thanks diesel miata for the defroster tip!

it'd be better if you actually installed the speakers, and used "good" speakers on that note.

I'm not much a fan of 2 way or 3 way speakers, but rockford fosgate are pretty good speakers unless you start spending wayyy to much money.
We are talking about a Miata here....

Anyway, that looks good. I bet you could sell quite a few of those things if you produced them. Well over 100 of them i'm sure, it could be worthwhile.

Not trying to offend the OP, but for everyone looking for a piece like this, it already exists, CarbonMiata sells a similar piece for $185 in fiberglass, or $305 for carbon fiber. Now after looking at both of them, it appears to be the exact same piece. Rear Subwoofer panel

My trashed NA '92 had a nice sound system. Rear deck speakers= Pioneer TS-X200 surface mount spkr on rear deck... Pioneer Stage 4 speakers in front doors (added separate tweeter) with crossover networks on wall behind driver seat,, + Kicker Amplifier (ZR120- older unit But?) with old Kenwood KDC-2019 Head Unit... you could hear these tunes with the top down........ with the hardtop on... OH YEAH.. TUNES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been crazy in audio since before time in 60's...

Though with an amp... those speaker boxes he built or bought,,, with the right speakers.. won't matter if top is up or down.
