Default GT500 Injector Flow Rate and Dead Time Data

Dumping the data I have about GT500 injectors here for posterity. In particular, this is for the 2013-2014 Shelby GT500 injectors, part number DR3Z-9F593-A or 0280158298 depending who you ask.

Flow rate - these suckers are reported as different flow rates in different places. Some sources say 614cc/min, others say 630cc/min, yet others say 58lb/hr (which is 609cc/min). I tested 65 injectors, and got the following static flow rate:

Mean flow rate: 611cc/min
Standard deviation: 5.3cc/min

The deadtime numbers you should plug into your MS are as follows:

.63ms @ 13.2V
Battery voltage correction .116ms/V

Or get even more precise (thanks aidandj for the following)

Thanks again Nigel, I am very happy with my injectors here are my latest msq and log files for my stock 99 mspnp2. I still need to drive with autotune on a bit more but all in all running reasonably well.

Awesome!

Can you share what you did to make the plugs work for you? I think it would be helpful for other folks who are sticking with PNP, and need to wait a couple more weeks before I get the new connectors.

I basically carefully popped the tiny connectors out of the denso weather pack side and gently tapped 2 small dimples in each with a center punch and hammer. Just like this, sorry no real pics I was in a rush to get my car working again.
This was after I lost 1 cylinder shortly after swapping the injectors but all the connectors appeared to be still connected. I have not had a problem since, with my crappy dented denso PNP connectors.

I got some time in playing with my mazda today, here are my latest msq and log files for the flow matched GT500 injector set I have. This is in my stock 99 with about 220k miles MSPNP2 and no boost yet so don't use this tune above 100kpa without adjusting the higher MAP range first. It is warm where I live so I have only started it at 50F, 120-130F & 175-185F coolant temps. The mileage seems reasonable so far, it definitely needs more fine tuning. I did use my WUE to stabilize hot starts and hot traffic returnless fuel situations by starting WUE up again after about 190. A bandaid for the moment but I am happy with idle even with CLT>200F and MAT around 130. I took 3 separate idle logs at cold, warm and heat soaked, so I will work on it some.
This should get people started and running at least.
Thanks again nigelt!

Just to update this thread (because I saw the .63ms value linked somewhere else on the web) the original deadtime data was wrong.

Source for the new data (also nigelt): https://www.miataturbo.net/diy-turbo...5/#post1314428

Is this calculated differently on an MS2?

No. there just isn't a correction curve. That thread has some more info about it.

Ok cool. I don't have Tunerstudio on this PC so I couldn't check. I see it in that thread now. Thanks!
