Question Mazdaspeed Build Manual Needed

I started tearing down the 05 Mazdaspeed yesterday. Instead of swapping short blocks, I decided to do a complete rebuild. The car has 130k & probably threw a rod. Motor is ready to come out. I would like a manual for the engine rebuild as well as one for install of motor. Anyone have anything?

Link to my Miata Docs dropbox folder. The "MSM_Tech" file is everything I have for the MSM.

Nothing replaces experience and research. Read as much as you can online, maybe try getting a haynes manual, read Mobius' documentation, and even try one of Keith's books that has a engine write up?

NBs are pretty easy though. Pull engine harness, starter/alt harness, fuel line, mounts, reverse/neutral wiring, PPF/shifter, radiator, ground strap, heater core lines, and thats about it. Yank it out, rebuild, replace.

I think what he's looking for is the equivalent of the dummies guide to BP engine rebuilds, which I have look for before myself and have not found.

there is no dummies guide because dummies shouldn't be rebuilding engines

Yeah no I get that and agree. But you can find explicit instruction manuals for small block Ford/Chevy, Honda motors, etc that pretty much walk you through what needs to be done. There's no equivalent for a BP specifically that I am aware of.

Assuming you are familiar with the general concepts of engine rebuilding, the best rebuild guide is the factory shop manual.

Mazda stopped publishing detailed rebuild instructions as of the NB (preferring to swap engines as complete assemblies), however the instructions in the '97 shop manual are mostly applicable with regard to clearances, torque specs, and the like. The bottom-ends are virtually identical between a '97 and a MSM, and aside from the lifters, the heads are similar.

Here's the 97 manual:

This manual covers 2003-2005, and I'm pretty sure it includes the MSM. Google drive link.

Second attempt to post this link. 2003-2005 manual, and it might have what you're looking for: http://drive.google.com/folderview?i...lU&usp=sharing

Well crap! My work blocked your link. I will try to get it when I get home in a few days.
As far as what I am looking for, I am looking for as much OEM data I can get a hold of. Torque values and build data. Also will need all the vacuum tubing and boost sense stuff that runs along the intake side of the motor and in front of the motor when I start putting it back in.

All the vacuum/boost stuffs will all be in the MSM factory service manual in my dropbox folder.
