Default 1996 - Upgrade Voodoo/Bipes with MSPNP V1.1?

Currently running an old Begi 4.2 setup - T2554 @ 8 psi. Electronics are Voodoo + Bipes ACU for timing retard. I'd like to get upgrade this build and go 10-12 psi. It seems like a megasquirt is that way to go and all I'll need is new injectors to keep up with the fuel. Everything else is setup with plenty of head room - happy meal clutch, aftermarket radiator, pierburg fuel pump, IC is good size.

Would going with a MSPNP V1.1 cause any bottlenecks? MSPNP2 would certainly give me more flexibility but at the low prices a used mm9697 MSPNP V1.1 can be had for it seems like it would be a good fit for my situation and goal. Any input would be appreciated!

Unless you can buy a PNP solution for under $200, don't bother with MS1 based ECUs.

I'd probably be able to grab one for $125 which is why it's tempting. From what I've seen I'd just have expanded fuel/spark tables but I'm struggling to understand why I'd want to spend an extra 3-400 in this case given I have no intention to really get every last HP out.

For the last time: POWER is NOT the main reason a better ecu is more desirable.
I feel like I have to repeat this like a broken record, because it seems like every other n00b is under the impression that 200hp = no need for better ecu.

You want the better one because it's better at everything, your car will run better, it will be easier to install, and it will be easier to tune. Everything is better.

But if you don't care about that, and if money really is that important, and if time is really unimportant, then yeah the MS1 should be fine.

while adding MS1 will make it easier to support 10-12psi and make more power doing it, it'll also add frustrations: like poor idle control.
