Default 15x12 6UL for new 295+ Hoosier A7

Hoosier has leaked info about a new super wide 22.7" tall tire based on their current 275/35R15 with a plug (strip of tread) inserted into the mold. Exact width and tire size TBA from Hoosier. Anticipated release date is early May 2017.
295/35/15 is a working size designation but I understand that's not final. Best guess on the actual width (not what will be printed on the sidewall) will be 305~325. As of today at least, even Hoosier doesn't have the final sizing info, just the green light to go into production. Contact Hoosier at 574-784-3152 for more info

To accommodate this new tire, we are producing a 15x12 +12 6UL variant that should be here by mid June. Just Tungsten for this variant.

15x12 on a Miata. Jeebus.

So it took two decades to get there but finally there is a reason for the bulbous widebody kits that businesses developed for the V8 swap cars so long ago (and always completely under utilized the new-found space they created and/or had to use massive spacers)

Awesome!

I wonder what this will do for wheel hub failure rates?

Nothing. Hubs should be timed out anyway. Hub failures are a result of extreme usage by owners not aware of the most current info. The Miataverse has to start thinking of these little cars we beat on like airplanes or proper race cars. OEM parts don't always last forever or have acceptable failure modes under duress.

For the guys that don't do their homework, running on old beat up ball joints, hubs, never checking subframes or controls arms for cracks, yeah they are going to be snapping important bits off the car at inopportune moments.

So, is there any chance in heck that this could legally fit in the front of a CSP car? 275s on 11s already rub everywhere...

I am glad to see rims and tire being developed together. The 296-305 would never realize it's true potential without a 12" 6UL wheel.

I look forward to seeing the body kits that will soon follow to fit these meats.

Steering rack limiters my friend, and proper bump stop length.

I spent a few minutes scavenging around the shop. Some of these are used race wheels, some are samples for upcoming wheels, so please excuse the mismatching of finishes.

15x6/7/7.5/8/9/10/11/12"

Awesome.

Yes, absolutely. You have my word on it. Guaranteed. Flawless OEM Style fitment.

That is only what, exactly two times the width of the OEM wheel? Like a glove.

IIRC, 1.6s came with 14x5.5s, so it's more than 2x.
