Still waiting to hear any hard evidence on SP-legal fitment. And availability. ;-)

The 12's width to diameter ratio looks absolutely ridiculous.

Update from Hoosier. No ETA on tires but definitely not in time for Solo Nats. Tread is 11.5" and it will designated a 295/35.
275 is 10.1" tread for reference. We'll get one to mount as soon as it becomes available.

That is only what, exactly two times the width of the OEM wheel? Like a glove.

Must be a beta tester. My contact at Hoosier said they didn't have a production date as of last Tuesday.

I talked to somebody that the contingency person forwarded me to on Monday can't remember the name. Said he had several samples and they looked good after some fiddling with the casing design layup some they now look good. called again today to verify they got all my contingency requests and they said looks like they will have them ready for shipping next week. Already shipped the 275's I requested. Going to be interesting getting these to work on the front. In theory just enough modification to get them to fit will be legal for SSM you but you will have to take a 200 lb weight limit hit though. Don't think CSP can stretch the rules that far for front inner finder massage work needed. For now I think we will put them just on the back of a CSP car and see what the result is. If you don't care about rules then have at it but I still think non DOT 23.5X12R16 is where to go for XP and beyond.

So the market will be flooded with 15x10s soon? Or did the 15x10 guys already upgrade to 15x11 last year?

What I'm waiting for is 275 width RS-4s.

Idk, the 295 will still be faster then the 275 on a 10 or 10.5, though wider is better if you have the pocketbook/rules allowance to fit them.

I'm not sure the 295 is worth making he car wider than most other things in the class and adding 200 lbs.

So i wrote hoosier an email yesterday about the tires.
My question:
"Hi,
I'm would like to know the status of the 295/35-15 Hoosier A7. I know its in development and was wondering when it will be available to purchase.
Thanks,"

this is what I got back:
"Thanks for writing and good question. This Tire Size / Project is on hold at the moment. Management is discussion the future of this tire size.

I am unsure of its future at the moment.

Feel free to write back next month for an update."

Doesn't give me a great feeling but whatever I guess. I plan to run these on a CSP car.

Update I got today. They are not happy with the just add a spacer to the existing mold approach. Apparently the profile ends up dipping in the middle too much or something. They are apparently going to spring for a new tool to get the profile right at a much greater expense. ETA is moved out. I would assume 6 weeks for tooling then prototype testing and measurement probably a few more weeks I think.

I don't think anybody would have any time for fitting and testing before nats anyway. hopefully get them for off season setup and testing.

15x12 6UL wouldn't be here in time either. Doubt many could get custom wheels in time and get the car dialed back in before Solo Nats even if the tires were here.

IIRC, SCCA doesn't allow tires at nationals unless they were regularly available for most of the year anyway.

So, if they end up cancelling, what is that going to do for 949 planning to produce the new 15x12's?
