So I just blew the engine in my 1993 turbo miata. Its hard to find another 1.6 to put into it from my year but I'm seeing a ton of these 1.6 engines from the 1999-2000 miata with low miles. Will that engine fit in my car with no modification? Will my turbo manifold bolt up to it? Will my megasquirt ecu still work? Any changes i need to make to make this engine swap possible? Thanks for the help!

 

With the MegaSquirt, you'll be able to control pretty much any fuel and spark setup, so with some wiring changes, im sure it'll run it. I doubt the 1.6nb has some exotic subframe or trans, so yes it should bolt up. No idea if the exhaust flange is the same. I'd be highly suspicious of that aspect of the swap.

 

The intake manifold is different. I would guess the bottom half of the exhaust manifold is too, but that doesn't really apply to you. I doubt there's an issue.
