The timing mark on my crank pulley is WAYYYY OFF. I checked my timing and the notch on my pulley was off . I re did the timing belt last night, set to TDC ,lined up the cams checked FOUR times the teeth in between the.cam marks after cranking the motor(by hand) 19 teeth every time (in the picture it looks like a tooth off that's just the angle I took the picture at) . I went out and checked the the timing, i couldn't see the notch on the pulley with the light annnnd the notch is almost pointing towards the bottom of the car! . (the third pic is about where the notch is at when the car is idling and I check it with the light I adjusted the CAS and it doesn't even come close to the marks on the belt cover)
Pulley damper has failed due to the age of the rubber. It is coming apart. A replacement is required or surprise catastrophe is imminent. Old parts are old.
I had the same problem on my 92, I made a new mark and set my Megasquirt up off of that with great results. I proceeded to run my Rotrex blower off of that same wobbly shifted crank pulley for 7k miles with no issues before I yanked it for a 1.8 swap.
