Hello Miataturbo users!

I hope this thread doesn't upset anyone being my first post and asking for something at the same time, I however thought there would be folks here that would be happy to see it so here I am. Real quick, my name is Travis, I have only lurked here for years but never actually posted. I am very active on v8miata.net and a couple other sites.

I have recently been in contact with a few tire manufacturers about possibly bringing a 275/35R15 to market in a street tire, not full on race tire. I got a positive response from Maxxis today so I am starting a petition to hopefully show interest in a tire this size. Please if you have any interest, see the link below to my online petition!

Seems to be an idea every few years that never goes much beyond a positive response from a manufacturer. I wish you luck, but don't hold your breath

I did, Its where I originally got the idea to contact the manufacturers. I don't recall ever seeing any kind of a petition for it yet though, so maybe this will help. The response I got this morning from maxxis says they actually are looking at it as an option now, but maybe the petition would help expedite.

 

If you want it to take off, you need to share is with multiple platforms. Just sharing it on a Miata based ground isn't going to gain much traction.

 

This. I'm sure other platforms that are popular swap cars that run 15s would be helpful. Off the top of my head I'd guess e30s and maybe fox body mustangs? Civics?

 

I agree guys, I have posted in SCCA groups, some facebook pages, S30 Nissan groups, etc. I am well versed in the miata world so I know where to go there, however if you have other specific suggestions please do tell.

 

Up to about 700 now, would like to see 1k before I send it to them
