Hey everyone, this is Naid. I'm new around here, but you may have seen the car before. https://www.miataturbo.net/build-thr...e-build-80068/
(btw, if a moderator could approve my post to that build thread from a few days ago, that would be great)
The car recently took a trip from California to its new home in North Carolina and will be frequenting some East Coast tracks. First Miata for me, and lots to learn about them. Going to keep it street legal and enjoy at any opportunity, on street and track.
Had a chance to turn a few laps at Carolina Motorsports Park on Saturday, before rain came down and scared all the race tire people away into the paddock (basically 80% of the field):
Whoa, got an email notification 2 weeks later! Anyway, I dabble in track days and autocross, as the schedule permits. Started in 2011 and peaked at ~30 days/year around 2013-2014, then it went downhill from there, currently only managing 2-3 days/year. Coming from a Lexus IS-F originally, then 5 years in a track S2000 that was decently quick. Let's see if the Miata can run similar lap times (currently 3-4 seconds off). Also as a new transplant from apartment living to a house with a garage, maybe I'll get a chance to wrench and learn a thing or two with this car. Maybe slap a turbo on it someday. But not before exploring the limits as-is.
