6-rib pulley/ damper setup
I have been talking today with BHJ about doing a run of dampers and 6 rib overlay pulleys like SPM sold a few of back in the day so I can run a 6 rib belt on my Rotrex. They said we may be able to knock down the cost some if we get a certain quantity, production lead time is estimated at 8-10 weeks. Is anyone else interested in buying? The overlay pulley requires a steel hub damper with the 3 reinforcing ribs (there weren't a whole lot of those produced). Pricing is in the ballpark of $750 for the damper and overlay pulley. Post up if you are interested and I will see if we can get a group buy discount setup (or at least get a production run done).

I tried looking for a build thread, but couldn't find anything, other than the vid with the clicking sound and misaligned belt. But first, how do you know you have belt slip? If you just corrected that alignment, that belt is probably glazed and toast.
I only ask because of all SC setups, the Rotrex pulley is the largest. And it has an autotensioner. What is so unique about this setup that only yours slips?
Although different hardware, plenty of M45s and MP62s with a much smaller 4 rib pulleys did fine and many did so with a 150mm overlay, meaning those smaller SC pulleys did fine. So I don't get why this one is having trouble.
Please don't take this as shitting on your thread - I hope it works. I just think a plan B would help cause the current plan is hinged on 5 more people and $4500.
Here might be some other things to consider:
1. A new belt, maybe different brand.
2. Adjust that pulley under the Rotrex farther in to get more belt wrap (assuming it's adjustable by long bolt).
3. Maybe the tensioner is weak and belt deflection is not in spec in which case, a 6-rib may not help.
4. See if anyone makes a Rotrex-style GripTec pulley. I think Z-Industries offers a GripTec service.

I talked to BHJ and ordered a setup on Friday. Cost is $735 plus shipping. They are going to plan on making a couple extra, but the wait time for starting a new run is currently 8-10 weeks. Here is the contact info for Chris @ BHJ:
Chris Ouellette
BHJ Products Inc.
chris@bhjinc.com| +1(510) 797-6780@RunninOnEmpty - some of my logs were showing boost level not increasing all the way to redline, which indicates some slippage. It's not major slippage, as the belt still looks to be in good shape and I am still on the original one, but I also have plans this winter to ship my blower to a shop in the UK for some upgrades (mainly a CNC impeller that is dyno proven to increase boost by about 4psi at max blower RPM), so this is going to be a bit of preparation for that as well.

B,
Did you ever get this sorted? Just curious. I saw this, not as awesome as a full damper, but in theory should work the same for a fraction of the cost and probably no wait.
